Sophia's Table is a new ecumenical campus ministry at Boise State — a community being built from the ground up for students to find real relationships, honest conversation, and a place to belong. We're just getting started, which means you'd be getting in on the ground floor: helping shape what gatherings, meals, and traditions this community becomes. Right now that mostly means coffee, conversation, and figuring it out together. Come help us build it.

Yes - Sophia’s Table is a ministry of the Wesley Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit affiliated with the United Methodist Church (UMC). Sophia’s Table is intentionally designed to be an ecumenical ministry, in partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Presbyterian Church USA.

That said, you don’t need a background in one of our partner denominations to belong here. Students from all traditions (and none) are a part of our community.

Sophia’s Table is an ecumenical campus ministry. The word ecumenical comes from the Greek oikoumene meaning ‘the whole inhabited world.’ For Christians, that translates into collaboration and understanding across denominational lines.

LuMin is the campus ministry network of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Short for "Lutheran Ministry," LuMin connects Lutheran-affiliated campus communities across the country — Sophia's Table is one of them.

Wesley refers to John Wesley, the 18th-century priest whose teaching and practice gave rise to the Methodist movement. "Wesley Foundation" is the traditional name for United Methodist campus ministries, and you'll still hear people call campus ministry work "Wesley" ministry as shorthand — even though the United Methodist Church's own campus ministry network is now officially organized through its General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM).

UKirk is the campus ministry network of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Kirk is simply the Scottish word for "church" — a nod to the PC(USA)'s Scottish Reformed roots. UKirk connects Presbyterian-affiliated campus ministries nationwide.
