Who We Are

Sophia's Table is a campus ministry for Boise State students — a place to eat together, ask hard questions, and figure out what faith actually looks like when you're twenty years old and everything is changing. We're ecumenical by design: a joint ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the United Methodist Church, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

We're also part of three national campus ministry networks: UKirk Collegiate Ministries (the PCUSA campus ministry network), LuMin(the ELCA's campus ministry network), and the UMC's General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM). That means we're connected to a much bigger web of Reformed, Lutheran, and Methodist campus communities across the country… a shared sense that this ministry matters far beyond Boise.

You don't need a church background to show up. You don't need to have your theology figured out. You just need to be curious.

Sophia's Table provides an inclusive Christian community where students build real relationships, honor lived experience, and grow together in faith, love, and community.

What We Believe

• Everyone belongs at the table. No exceptions, no asterisks.

• Faith grows in relationship, not isolation. We learn from each other's lived experience as much as from scripture.

• Doubt is welcome here. Questions aren't a threat to faith — they're often how faith grows.

• The Spirit shows up in ordinary things. A shared meal. A hard conversation. A study session.

Our Name

Sophia is the Greek word for wisdom — and in scripture, Wisdom is often personified as a guide who calls out in the public square, inviting people to her table (Proverbs 9). We took the name seriously: this is a place built around invitation.

Leadership

Rev. Hannah Andres serves as campus minister for Sophia's Table, walking alongside students in their day-to-day lives and helping to build this community from the ground up.

Sophia's Table is governed by a board of directors representing our three partner denominations:
